GMC and Sierra HD Win 2011 Best Value in America Awards

The 2011 Sierra 2500HD

The GMC Sierra 2500HD took top honors in the heavy duty ¾-ton pickup category of Vincentric’s seventh annual Best Value in America‖ awards, beating Ford Super Duty F-250 and Dodge Ram 2500. GMC also earned Vincentric’s top truck brand honor.

Vincentric, a privately held automotive data compilation and analysis firm, headquartered in Bing-ham Farms, Mich., selects winners based on calculations of total cost of ownership relative to price within industry segments.

In both 2WD and 4WD configurations, Sierra 2500HD’s maintenance and repair costs were lower than the competition and key factors in its win, said David Wurster, president of Vincentric.

Likewise, GMC Trucks won the overall brand award, because the cost of ownership was lower than expected in all four pickup segments and in both 2WD and 4WD configurations.

In related news, Buick Enclave took top honors in the full-size crossover category, beating Ford Flex and other competitive models. Enclave previously earned the honor in 2009.

The 2011 Buick Enclave

Enclave was selected over other full-size crossovers, because its low de-preciation rate and low service costs resulted in a cost of ownership that is 3 percent lower than expected for similarly priced vehicles in its segment.
