What is the Cadillac CUE?

CUE blends first-of-its-kind technology with highly intelligent design, bringing the intuitive control of smart phones and tablets safely to the road. With a clean, uncluttered design, natural voice recognition, and responsive touch screen technology, CUE creates an experience that’s as effortless as it is advanced.

Debuting in 2012 on the 2013 Cadillac XTS and ATS luxury sedans and the SRX luxury crossover, CUE is designed to be unique for each driver. For the tech-savvy, it’s everything you want it to be—a full suite of infotainment, navigation and communication tools that keeps you fully connected. But you don’t have to be a technophile to appreciate it. CUE is remarkably simple, intuitive and accessible.

The result is unlike anything you’ve ever experienced.

CUE doesn’t replace your smartphone or iPod®. Rather, it seamlessly integrates them with your vehicle controls. Entertainment, navigation and communication are all available in one remarkably intuitive interface. It’s so advanced, it even senses your presence and provides tactile feedback from its brilliant touch screen, allowing you to keep your eyes safely on the road.

The heart of CUE is the 8-inch LCD touch screen, seamlessly integrated into the top of the instrument panel. The vibrant LCD screen displays CUE’s home page, which resembles a smart phone screen by using large, easy-to-target icons to execute commands.

CUE is a highly advanced in-vehicle hub for all the information and entertainment in your life. CUE’s controls function to create a look that is unmistakably Cadillac—vibrant colors, a piano-black faceplate, precision milled buttons, intuitive touch screen placement and a sculpted front console. All working together to create an impressive, modern design.

To improve simplicity and connectivity for consumers, CUE will feature several auto industry firsts:

  • Your screen layout has proximity sensing, so it displays only the information you want—keeping it clean and uncluttered. Icons not in use fade back, and as your hand approaches the screen, the full menu illuminates.
  • CUE gives you tactile feedback on the touch screen and certain controls. Buttons pulse when pressed to affirm that the command is being carried out, allowing you to make your selection without taking your eyes off the road.
  • To make your interactions with CUE simple and safe, Cadillac employed the gestures used on today’s smart phones and tablets. Tap, flick, swipe and spread through homepages and customizable information.
  • The available 12.3-inch LCD gauge cluster can be customized into one of four screen layouts. They mix vehicle data, such as readouts for fuel levels and speed, with navigation, phone and entertainment information.
  • CUE employs natural voice recognition so you can speak conversationally, avoiding awkward commands and complicated sequences, making your interaction with CUE easier and more responsive.
